In Harmony are all members of the Tiverton Amateur Operatic Society and have known each other for at least 20 years. The group sprang out of a friendship and love of singing and they sing a variety of 3-part harmony music specialising in music from the 30's and 40's.
They perform annually for the NSPCC at Bolham House and have recently supported Brotherhood of Man in a Variety show.
They will be supported at our concert by members of the well-known Exeter jazz band City Steam.

KOSMOS


This talented and vibrant string trio make a very welcome return visit to our church on


Friday 24th April 2009 at 7.30pm
Violinists Harriet Mackenzie and Meg Hamilton with 'cellist Laura Anstee will delight us again with their bold fusion of different folk music styles and genre combined with their superlative musicianship. The trio is inspired by traditional music from the Balkans and Asia Minor. Everything they perform is their own composition, arrangement or improvisation inspired by Jewish, Gypsy, Balkan and contemporary music.

Jenny's Wood by Su Hart


Singer and painter Su Hart is best known as the founder of the hugely successful African/Celtic group Baka Beyond.


Su has just released her first solo album Worth it after All and is promoting it with a tour that includes some Village in Action dates.


Her four piece band includes guitar, double bass, mandolin and vocals. Su describes her music as African rythms and celtic melodies and some cheeky songs for fun. Her performance will include some songs from her album as well as some Baka Beyond material. Her infectious enjoyment of performing will ensure that the audience will leave feeling uplifted.
Su and her band will have just returned from a tour to Alaska prior to performing at our church on
Thursday 27th November at 7.30pm

music from different countries: UK, Ireland, france, Holland and from the Jewish tradition.


The emphasis is on songs, with depth and feeling and with a light touch, interspersed with instrumentals of all varieties. Their musical background is wide and they are strongly inspired by the oral tradition of folk music and by improvisation.
